Product details
TRESADERM (thiabendazole, dexamethasone, neomycin sulfate solution) is a medication approved by the FDA that is safe to use on dogs and cats and is available as an easy-to-apply topical solution. This solution helps treat otitis externa (inflammation and/or infection of the external ear canal), as well as a number of localized skin conditions. TRESADERM contains an antifungal, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, and a corticosteroid. This triple-action formulation is effective against common causes of fungal and bacterial skin infections, as well as ear infections of the external ear canal. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory for relief from the discomfort caused by these conditions. For pets suffering from otitis externa or skin irritation, it’s recommended to treat the affected area as soon as possible with TRESADERM topical solution to help prevent further inflammation.

Usage
For more information, please refer to the product label and full Prescribing Information provided in the manufacturer’s package insert or consult your veterinarian.
Tresaderm should be applied topically to the affected area(s) as directed by your veterinarian. Wash hands after handling the medication. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule.
Administer the complete course of the medication as prescribed, even if your pet's condition has improved. Failure to administer the entire course of treatment may cause recurrence or worsening of the infection. Contact your veterinarian ahead of time if your pet needs a refill.
Manufacturer Dosage and Administration:
Prior to the administration of Dermatologic Solution TRESADERM, remove the ceruminous, purulent or foreign materials from the ear canal, as well as the crust which may be associated with dermatoses affecting other parts of the body. The design of the container nozzle safely allows partial insertion into the ear canal for ease of administration. The amount to apply and the frequency of treatment are dependent upon the severity and extent of the lesions. Five to 15 drops should be instilled in the ear twice daily. In treating dermatoses affecting other than the ear the surface of the lesions should be well moistened (2 to 4 drops per square inch) with Dermatologic Solution TRESADERM twice daily. The volume required will be dependent upon the size of the lesion.
Application of TRESADERM should be limited to a period of not longer than one week.
Missed doses
If a dose is missed: Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give more medication than prescribed or two doses at once.
If you have questions about your pet’s prescribed dosing schedule (e.g., timing, interval), please consult your veterinarian.
Storage
Store in a refrigerator at a controlled temperature between 36 - 46°F. Keep this and all medications in a secure location out of the reach of children and animals to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose. Keep the lid tightly closed when not in use.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, light, or moisture can affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications. Always store this medication properly, as directed on the label.
Side effects
On rare occasions, dogs may be sensitive to neomycin. For these animals, application of the drug will result in erythema (redness) of the treated area, which may last 24 to 48 hours. Transient discomfort may also occur, especially if the skin of the treated area is fissured or eroded. The expression of pain may last 2 to 5 minutes.
Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any side effects, including those listed above, or if you notice anything unusual.
Precautions
Before using this product, please review the product label and full Prescribing Information for important safety information, including any relevant warnings and precautions.
For topical use in dogs and cats.
Avoid contact with eyes. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children and animals.
Application of TRESADERM (thiabendazole, dexamethasone, neomycin sulfate solution) should be limited to periods not longer than one week. While systemic side effects are not likely with topically applied corticosteroids, such a possibility should be considered if use of the solution is extensive and prolonged. If signs of salt and water retention or potassium excretion are noticed (increased thirst, weakness, lethargy, oliguria, gastrointestinal disturbances, or tachycardia), treatment should be discontinued and appropriate measures taken to correct the electrolyte and fluid imbalance.
Do not apply TRESADERM on animals with a known or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to it or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.
Drug and food interactions
There are no documented drug or food interactions reported for this medication.
As with all medications, please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns prior to use. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together.
Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
