NexGard PLUS (afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) chews deliver next-level protection all in one tasty soft chew. One monthly chew prevents heartworm disease, protects against fleas and 6 species of ticks (black-legged tick, brown dog tick, American dog tick, lone star tick, longhorned tick, and Gulf Coast tick) and treats and controls roundworms and hookworms—plus, prevents Lyme infections as a direct result of killing black-legged ticks. NexGard PLUS chewables kill adult fleas fast, before they can lay eggs, for a full month. It is also approved for prevention of Lyme infections in dogs as direct result of killing black-legged ticks. NexGard PLUS chews are safe and approved for puppies as young as 8 weeks old, weighing 4 pounds or more. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological disorders. Usage
NexGard PLUS should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule. If you have questions about your pet’s prescribed dosing schedule (e.g., timing, interval), please contact your veterinarian.

Manufacturer Dosage and Administration*
NexGard PLUS chews can be administered with or without food. Care should be taken to ensure that the dog consumes the complete dose, and that part of the dose is not lost or refused. If a dose is missed, administer a NexGard PLUS chew and resume a monthly dosing schedule.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled temperature at or below 77°F with excursions permitted up to 104°F. Keep this and all other medications in a secure location out of the reach of children and animals. Tablets should remain sealed in their original packaging and should only be taken out at the time of dosing.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, light, or moisture can affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications. Always store this medication properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places), as outlined on the product label.



Side effects
The most frequently reported adverse reactions reported in clinical trials were diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, and itching.
Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet experiences tremors, difficulty walking, decreased coordination, or seizures.

Not for use in humans. Keep this and all other medications out of reach of children and animals. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a physician for treatment advice.
Afoxolaner, one of the ingredients in NexGard PLUS chews, is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.
Treatment with fewer than six monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes has not been fully evaluated and may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of NexGard PLUS chews, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. At the discretion of the veterinarian, infected dogs should be treated with an adulticide to remove adult heartworms. NexGard PLUS chews are not effective against adult D. immitis.
The safe use of NexGard PLUS (afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) chews in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. Discuss the risks of using this medication with your veterinarian prior to use if your pet falls into one of these categories.

Do not administer this medication to animals with a known or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to it or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.

Food and drug interactions
While there are no specific food or drug interactions reported for this product, potential interactions may still be possible. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns prior to use. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together.

Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
