Description
Incurin (estriol) Tablets

INDICATIONS:
INCURIN Tablets are indicated for the control of estrogen-responsive urinary incontinence in ovariohysterectomized female dogs.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:
Evaluation of factors contributing to urinary incontinence should be considered prior to administration of INCURIN Tablets. Do not use with other estrogens. The concomitant use of INCURIN Tablets with other estrogens or with glucocorticoids has not been evaluated. The safe use of INCURIN Tablets has not been evaluated in intact female dogs, pregnant or lactating dogs, male dogs, dogs less than 1 year of age, or dogs with liver disease. Reported adverse reactions include anorexia, emesis, polydipsia, and swollen vulva. Not for human use. Keep out of the reach of children. Women who are of child-bearing age or those who are breastfeeding should use caution when administering INCURIN Tablets. Wash your hands with soap and water after administration to avoid exposure to the drug. For complete safety information, refer to the product label.

INCURIN Tablets contain 1 mg of estriol in each tablet and are supplied in foil-sealed blister packs of 30 single-scored tablets.

Usage
Incurin Tablets should be administered orally as directed by your veterinarian. Wash your hands with soap and water after administration to avoid inadvertent drug exposure. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule.

If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give more medication than prescribed or two doses at once. If you have questions about your pet’s prescribed dosing schedule (e.g., timing, interval), please contact your veterinarian.

Manufacturer Dosage and Administration*
The dose of Incurin is not dependent upon body weight. All dogs should receive an initial dose of 2 mg (two 1-mg tablets) orally once per day for a minimum of 14 days.
Dogs should not receive more than 2 mg of Incurin per day (2 tablets).

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled temperature at or below 77°F, with excursions permitted to 104°F. Keep this and all other medications in a secure location out of the reach of children and animals.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, light, or moisture can affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications. Always store this medication properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places), as outlined on the product label.



Side effects
The most common side effects associated with INCURIN treatment under field conditions included loss of appetite, vomiting, excessive water drinking, and swollen vulva.
Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet experiences a seizure, pale gums, weakness/collapse, or bruising, or if you notice a potential mammary tumor.

Precautions

For oral use in dogs only.
Not for human use. Keep this and all other medications out of reach of children and animals. Consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion by humans.

Do NOT use Incurin in pregnant dogs or in those with increased urination due to excessive water drinking.
Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures, liver disease, or mammary tumors.
The safety and effectiveness of INCURIN Tablets have not been evaluated in dogs less than 1 year of age, intact female dogs, male dogs, dogs used for breeding, or lactating dogs. Discuss the risks of using this medication with your veterinarian prior to use if your pet falls into one of these categories.

Do not administer this medication to animals with a known or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to any estrogen, including estriol, or to any other ingredient in the formulation. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.

Human exposure warning
This medication is classified as hazardous due to potential risks to individuals of child-bearing age, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Cutting, crushing, or otherwise manipulating tablets may increase the risk of exposure.
In these individuals, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is recommended when handling this medication to minimize the risk of exposure. These individuals may consider wearing gloves when handling and/or administering this medication. All pet owners should wash their hands with soap and water after handling the medication (even if gloves are worn).

Food and drug interactions
Do not use with other estrogens. The concomitant use of INCURIN Tablets with other estrogens or with glucocorticoids has not been evaluated.
Additionally, the following drugs* may also have potential interactions with this medication: anticoagulants (e.g., heparins, rivaroxaban), antidiabetic agents (including insulins), antifibrinolytic agents (e.g., tranexamic acid), azole antifungals (e.g., fluconazole, ketoconazole), corticosteroids (e.g., dexamethasone, prednisone), cyclosporine, levothyroxine, certain NSAIDs, phenobarbital, selegiline, theophylline, tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, clomipramine), ursodiol, and warfarin.
*NOTE: This may not be a comprehensive list. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns prior to use. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together.

Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
