Description
Elura (capromorelin oral solution) for Cats
20 mg/mL, 15 mL Bottle

INDICATIONS:
Elura is indicated for the management of weight loss in cats with chronic kidney disease.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:
For oral use in cats only. Do not use in cats that have a hypersensitivity to capromorelin, or in cats with hypersomatotropism (acromegaly). Elura may increase serum glucose for several hours after dosing; use in cats with current or historical diabetes mellitus has not been evaluated and may not be appropriate. Use with caution in cats that may have cardiac disease, severe dehydration, or hepatic dysfunction. Elura has not been evaluated in cats younger than 5 months of age, or in breeding, pregnant or lactating cats. The most common adverse reactions included vomiting, hypersalivation, inappetence, behavior change and lethargy. Please see Elura product label for full Prescribing Information.

Product strength & size
Each milliliter of ELURA contains 20 mg of capromorelin tartrate. The oral solution is supplied in a 15 mL bottle with an oral dosing syringe.

Usage
Elura should be administered orally as directed by your veterinarian. Wash hands immediately after use. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule.

If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give more medication than prescribed or two doses at once. If you have questions about your pet’s prescribed dosing schedule (e.g., timing, interval), please contact your veterinarian.

Manufacturer Directions for Use*
Elura is administered orally at a dose of 2 mg/kg (0.9 mg/lb) or 0.1ml /kg (0.045 ml /lb) body weight once, daily.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled temperature at or below 86°F. Keep this medication, the provided syringe, and all other medications in a secure location out of the reach of children and animals. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
After administration, rinse the syringe and plunger with water and leave apart to dry. Keep syringes out of reach of children.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, light, or moisture can affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications. Always store this medication properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places), as outlined on the product label.



Side effects
The most common adverse reactions reported for this medication include vomiting, hypersalivation, inappetence, behavior change (e.g., hiding), and lethargy.

Precautions
Before using this product, please review the manufacturer’s full Prescribing Information for any relevant warnings and safety precautions.
For oral use in cats only.
Not for use in humans. Keep this drug, including used syringes, out of reach of children. Wash hands immediately after use as this product may be dermally absorbed. Consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion by humans.
Monitor your cat for changes in thirst or water intake; lethargy or weakness; digestive issues (vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, decreased appetite); or behaviors.

Do not administer this medication to animals with a known or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to it or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.

Food and drug interactions
While there are no specific food or drug interactions reported for this product, potential interactions may still be possible.
The following drugs* may have potential interactions with this medication: estriol (Incurin), itraconazole, ketoconazole, and phenobarbital.
*NOTE: This may not be a comprehensive list. As with all medications, please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns prior to use. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together.

Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
